Dr. Shanna Yackel Dr. Shanna Yackel is an Associate Veterinarian at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital and East Hills Veterinary Clinic. She is originally from Long Island, New York, but has since lost her accent. At an early age, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. She’s always believed in the importance of the human animal bond and strives to be an advocate for both pets and parents. After achieving her undergraduate degree, she moved to the Midwest to attend veterinary school at Ohio State University, where she cultivated special interests in dermatology and internal medicine. When she is not being a doctor, she enjoys spending time with her fur child, a 9-year-old Schnoodle named Roscoe. She also plays in a recreational sand volleyball league. She is an avid hiker and kayaker. She also has a passion for traveling and learning about different cultures. Over the past several years, she has been to many exciting countries, including Peru, Italy, Thailand, South Africa, and Australia. When she’s not planning her next adventure, you can find her relaxing on a patio somewhere eating her favorite food, TACOS! DVM Lorrie Lorrie is so excited to be part of the RBAH team! She moved from West Virginia to Cincinnati in 1992 to attend University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music pursuing her love of theater. She graduated with a degree in the Veterinary Technology program in 1996 (not every journey is a straight line!). In her spare time you may find her running, singing, or snuggling with her critters.
She is absolutely passionate about helping people in their pets and is really looking forward to meeting you! Hospital Manager April April is our Head Technician; she has been with Red Bank Veterinary Hospital for 20 + years. April obtained her degree in Veterinary Technician degree from Gwinnett Tech in 1999. After moving to Ohio in 2000 she started her career at RBVH. In 2015, she obtained her Veterinary Practice Manager Certification from St. Petersburg College. April continues to uphold the standards of care, and commitment required by both her RVT and CVPM titles. April has a strong interest in animal behavior, which led to Fear Free Certification in 2017.
April has 2 children which many clients may remember seeing Nathen and Ansley over the years at the clinic as they have grown into caring, animal-oriented adults.
The household menagerie includes… 5 horses, 11 chickens, 2 dogs, 6 cats, 2 snakes and a fiancé. Head Technician Cheryl Cheryl graduated from University of Cincinnati in 1986 with a Bachelor’s of Science. She went back to UC in 2003 to obtain her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology. Cheryl began working for RBVH in 2008. She has a husband of 34 yrs, 4 children and 2 grandchildren. She also has 6 cats, 3 dogs, and 1 fish. In Cheryl’s spare time she enjoys crafting, kayaking, bike riding, football and hockey. Clinic Cat Elethia Elethia is a Cincinnati native who has been grooming for RBVH since 1997! She is a graduate of The Academy of Dog Grooming Arts. Her love for the art of grooming keeps her busy with learning the latest grooming techniques. When she is not providing clean stylish hair-doos for her clients, she is spending time with her 7yr old daughter who loves arts, crafts and her 2 fuzzy pups Chloe and Lulu. Groomer & Stylist Michelle Michelle has been at RBVH since 2012. Her familiar face is often seen at reception and in our boarding department. She enjoys helping pet owners and animals. Michelle is an avid visitor to the zoo, museums and the YMCA. She also enjoys cooking in her spare time. DVM Kirk Kirk is an Ohio native with a background in finance and operations , retail and customer service. Kirk joined East Hills Veterinary Clinic in February , 2020 . Kirks love of animals brought him to the veterinary industry over 7 years ago and is reminded daily with three English bull dogs Named Tank, Tango , Winston why he enjoys what he does every day . In his spare time Kirk enjoys running, fitness , volunteering at Hospice , spending time with family and friends . Hospital Administrator Jessica She was born and raised in Cincinnati. She loves outdoor yoga, piano, traveling, snuggling her kitties, and hiking new terrain with her dog, Lorraine. She's always been fascinated by psychology in both humans and animals. She has truly loved animals her entire life, and she has always dreamed of having the opportunity to give back to them for everything they provide us with on a daily basis. Receptionist Anna Foster Anna was raised in Lafayette, Indiana. She grew up on a farm, where she developed a passion for animals of all shapes and sizes. She went to Ball State University for a degree in social work and interpersonal relations, which has enabled her to further understand how to work with people and communicate with them effectively.
