Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:
Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic
services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Surgical Services:
Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance
of a wide variety of surgical procedures, including spays, neuters,
declaws, growth removals, exploratory surgery, and some
orthopedic surgery. Pain medications are administered prior to
surgery and sent home in most cases to reduce post-op
pain. Patients are closely monitored using ECG and
respiratory monitoring during surgery in a sterile controlled
environment. A Certified Veterinary Technician, or veterinary
nurse, monitors the surgery patient through out the procedure and
during recovery.
Anesthesia:
We utilize a balanced anesthesia approach, with an
individually tailored anesthesia plan for each patient. Patients
receive pre-anesthesia medications that give preemptive pain
relief, and that allow us to lower the dose of general anesthetics,
giving us a bigger margin of safety. All surgeries
requiring anesthetic gas are done using Sevoflorane.
Sevoflorane is a new type of gas anesthetic that provides
a shorter recovery from anesthesia. Propofol is used as an
induction agent, which provides a safer induction and
a faster recovery for patients. Decreasing the amount of time
and stress when patients are going under or waking up from
anesthesia reduces the risk to your pet. Using our modern
equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all
anesthetic procedures.
Radiology Services:
Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality
radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders. In addition
to standard films, contrast studies and OFA films are available.
Electrocardiography Services:
We provide ECG services including on-site as well as
consultations with cardiology specialists. Red Bank
Veterinary Hospital utilizes Cardiopet, which provides rapid
results from board certified cardiologists and in emergency
situations a specialist can be consulted within minutes.
Laboratory:
Our in house laboratory provides for pre-surgical screens,
parasite testing, urinalysis, blood glucose curves, fungal cultures
and cytology. We also utilize commercial veterinary
laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Pharmacy:
Many prescriptions can be filled right here in the
hospital. Prescriptions can be phoned into a pharmacy closer
to home or work for your convience. You can call in a prescription
refill using our prescription line at 513-272-0198.
